Progression of Project R and Project P - brief of the day
Project R- Ros house
-Project R is a demolish and re-built bungalow.
-Concept of house:contemporary minimalism
-Difficulty: site constraint.
Progression of Project R
-Targeting to complete tender drawings.
-Awaiting Engineer to brief the design on cantilevered concrete staircase.
- Aluminium mono pitched roof. In the midst of solving future leakage issue...oh no. mental blocked. (Go Jo go…go go go!! Don’t be surprised, that’s the best way to overcome pressure. Hahaha..)
-Project P is an 80% renovation semi-detached.
-Concept of house: yet to know from client
- Difficulty: marrying the old layout and new layout.
Progression of Project P
-2nd stage of conceptual drawing done. The motto of the project, maintain the existing as much as possible.
-Quotation negotiating stage.
-Pending confirmation from client’s requirements.
CONT' ARCHITECT VS BUILDING DESIGNER
Back to this topic..
Architect
-study as long as the doctor approx. 5 to 6 years or more
-endorsing important documents
-run a business
-form teams or get someone or themselves to do the design
-to bare with other unpredictable responsibilities
Building Designer
-design building “only”…no…some would have been designed without the consideration of workability of the building
-EASY….throw the design to fellow professionals to solve the problem….
-WOW…funky design, shocking curves and dramatic presentation to sell, sell, sell the ideas....
-eye catching avant-garde with advance animation and beautiful slide shows…who knows that “IT” might be build + able or not…
I m sure there are good ones around...
BOTTOM LINE everyone likes to see the building completed and STANDS “firm”…right!
